Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools: You will need the key fob, the vehicle, and a flathead screwdriver for opening the fob if necessary.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure area with the engine off and all doors closed.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery (if necessary)
  • Open the key fob using a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry apart the casing.
  • Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side faces the correct direction.
  • Reassemble the key fob casing securely.
3. Program the Key Fob
  1. Enter Programming Mode:
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
    • Turn the key back to the "OFF" position and then remove it.
    • Repeat this step two more times (a total of three cycles).
  2. Programming the Key Fob:
    • Close all doors and ensure they are locked.
    • With the key fob in hand, press and hold the "LOCK" button for about 5 seconds.
    • While holding the "LOCK" button, press the "UNLOCK" button five times, then release both buttons.
    • The vehicle's locks should cycle, indicating successful programming.
  3. Test the Key Fob:
    • After programming, test the fob by pressing the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons.
