Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: Flathead screwdriver, Torx screwdriver (T20), and a new cabin air filter.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and turn off the ignition.
  • Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
2. Remove the Glove Box
  1. Open the glove box and empty its contents.
  2. Locate the dampener arm on the right side of the glove box and unclip it.
  3. Squeeze the sides of the glove box inward to release the stops and allow the glove box to drop down.
3. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is typically found behind the glove box.
  2. Use a Torx screwdriver (T20) to remove the screws securing the filter cover.
  3. Carefully pull off the cover to expose the cabin air filter.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Gently pull out the old cabin air filter from its housing.
  2. Clean any debris from the filter housing using a vacuum or damp cloth.
  3. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented in the correct direction (indicated by arrows on the filter).
  4. Insert the new filter into the housing firmly.
5. Reassemble the Components
  1. Reattach the cabin air filter cover and secure it with the screws.
  2. Lift the glove box back into place and ensure it clicks into the retaining clips.
  3. Reattach the dampener arm to the glove box.
  4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
