Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032), multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe location and the engine is off.
2. Open Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob case along the seam.
  • Gently separate the two halves of the fob without damaging the internal components.
3. Replace Battery

  • Note the orientation of the battery (positive side facing up).
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation.
4. Reassemble Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
  • Ensure there are no gaps indicating the fob is not fully closed.
5. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  • Turn the key back to "OFF" and remove it.
  • Press any button on the key fob once; the doors should lock and unlock confirming the fob is programmed.
