Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools (screwdriver, multimeter, and replacement battery).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and that all doors are closed.
2. Inspect and Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small screwdriver to open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery carefully noting its orientation.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery (or as specified in the owner's manual), ensuring it is placed in the correct orientation.
  4. Reassemble the key fob casing, ensuring it clicks shut.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with the new battery installed in the key fob.
  2. Close all doors and insert the key into the ignition.
  3. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  4. On the fifth time, leave the key in the "ON" position. The locks should cycle to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode.
  5. Press any button on the key fob. The locks will cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  6. Turn the ignition off to exit programming mode.
4. Check Keyless Entry System Fuses
  1. Locate the fuse box under the dashboard or hood (refer to the owner's manual for location).
  2. Inspect the fuse for the keyless entry system; replace it if it is blown.
  3. Ensure all other fuses are intact as a precaution.
