Solution
1. Battery Replacement

  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
    2. Remove the old battery from its compartment, noting the orientation of the positive and negative sides.
    3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the removed battery.
    4. Snap the fob casing back together securely.
2. Reprogramming the Key Fob
  • Tools Required: None
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
    2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "Off" five times in quick succession.
    3. Leave the key in the "On" position on the fifth cycle; the doors should automatically lock and unlock to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode.
    4. Press any button on the key fob to program it, then turn the ignition to "Off" to exit programming mode.
3. Check for Additional Issues
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
    2. Scan for any error codes related to the keyless entry system or ignition.
    3. Address any codes found by repairing or replacing faulty components as needed.
