Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
2. Inspect Fuse
  • Locate the fuse box; usually found under the dashboard or engine compartment.
  • Remove the cover and identify the audio system fuse.
  • Use a fuse puller or pliers to remove the fuse and visually inspect it.
  • If blown, replace with a fuse of the same amperage (refer to the owner's manual for specifications).
3. Check Wiring Connections
  • Remove the trim panel surrounding the radio carefully using a trim removal tool to avoid damage.
  • Unscrew and pull out the radio unit from the dashboard.
  • Inspect the wiring harness connected to the back of the radio.
  • Ensure all connectors are secure and free of corrosion or debris. If any wires are damaged, repair or replace them as needed.
4. Test Power at Radio
  • With the radio still disconnected, use a multimeter to measure voltage on the power connector.
  • Place the multimeter probes on the power and ground wires of the harness.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ACC" position and check for approximately 12 volts. If no voltage is present, trace back to the fuse box or ignition switch.
5. Reinstall Radio
  • If no issues are found, reconnect the wiring harness securely.
  • Reinsert the radio back into the dashboard and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the trim panel around the radio.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
