Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools and parts. Ensure you are in a well-lit area.
  • Tools Required: Small screwdriver, multimeter (optional), replacement battery (if needed).
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Open the key fob using a small screwdriver to carefully pry apart the case.
  • Remove the old battery and check for corrosion or damage in the battery compartment.
  • Install a new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing the correct direction.
  • Snap the key fob case back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and unlocked.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (not starting the engine) and then back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Leave the key in the "On" position on the fifth turn. The door locks should cycle, indicating the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob. The locks should cycle again to confirm programming.
  • Turn the ignition to the "Off" position to exit programming mode.
4. Inspect Vehicle Receiver
  • If the fob still does not work, inspect the keyless entry receiver module under the dash or behind the glove box.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and look for any signs of damage or corrosion.
