Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Screwdriver set
    • Multimeter
    • Socket set
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Access the Blower Motor Resistor
  • Remove the lower dashboard cover beneath the passenger side of the dashboard using a screwdriver.
  • Locate the blower motor resistor, which is typically positioned near the blower motor.
3. Remove the Blower Motor Resistor
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the screws holding the blower motor resistor in place using a socket set, and take out the resistor.
4. Inspect and Test the Resistor
  • Check the resistor for signs of burning or corrosion.
  • Use a multimeter to test the resistance of the resistor terminals according to the specifications provided in the service manual. Replace if out of range.
5. Install New Resistor (if necessary)
  • If replacing, position the new blower motor resistor in place.
  • Secure it with screws and reconnect the electrical connector.
6. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the lower dashboard cover.
  • Reconnect the battery and start the vehicle.
  • Test the blower motor operation at all speed settings.
