Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for strut replacement.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues during the repair.
2. Raise Vehicle
  • Use a jack to raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the front or rear wheels to access the struts.
3. Remove Struts
  • Front Struts:

    1. Disconnect the brake line and any electrical connectors attached to the strut.
    2. Remove the bolt securing the strut to the steering knuckle using a socket set.
    3. Unscrew the top strut mount bolts located under the hood or in the trunk.
    4. Carefully remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
  • Rear Struts:

    1. Remove any covers or panels obstructing access to the strut mounts.
    2. Unscrew the top strut mount bolts from inside the trunk.
    3. Remove the lower strut mounting bolts at the rear axle.
    4. Carefully detach the strut assembly.
4. Install New Struts
  1. Place the new strut assembly in position and secure it to the vehicle.
  2. Tighten the top strut mount bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (consult the repair manual for specific values).
  3. Reattach the lower strut mounting bolts and tighten them securely.
  4. Reconnect any brake lines or electrical connectors.
5. Reassemble Vehicle
  • Replace wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Reconnect the battery.
