Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Lug wrench (wheel nut wrench)
    • Torque wrench
    • Tire pressure gauge
  • Safety Warning: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, turn on the hazard lights, and engage the parking brake.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Using the jack, lift one side of the vehicle until the tires are off the ground.
  • Place jack stands under the vehicle for added safety and stability.
3. Remove Tires
  • Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the first tire.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the tire.
  • Repeat this process for the remaining three tires.
4. Rotate Tires
  • Follow the recommended rotation pattern for your Tesla Model S Plaid:
    • Front tires to the rear (same side)
    • Rear tires to the front (same side)
  • Ensure the tires are placed securely onto the correct hubs.
5. Reinstall Tires
  • Place the tire onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts to secure it in place.
  • Use the torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specification (typically around 129 lb-ft for Tesla vehicles).
  • Repeat for all four tires.
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove the jack stands.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack.
7. Final Checks
  • Check tire pressures again and adjust as necessary.
  • Reset the tire rotation alert in the vehicle’s settings via the touchscreen.
