Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, pry bar, jack, jack stands
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the battery before starting work on electrical components.
2. Inspect Suspension Components
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
  • Visually inspect the struts, control arms, and bushings for wear or cracks.
  • Use a pry bar to check for movement in the control arm bushings and ball joints.
3. Replace Worn Components
  • If any components are found to be worn or damaged, proceed to replace them as follows:
    • Control Arm Replacement:
      1. Remove the nuts and bolts securing the control arm using a socket set.
      2. Remove the control arm from the vehicle.
      3. Install the new control arm and secure it using the original bolts, tightening to manufacturer specifications (consult vehicle service manual for torque values).
    • Ball Joint Replacement:
      1. Remove the wheel hub if necessary to access the ball joint.
      2. Remove the retaining clips and bolts securing the ball joint.
      3. Install the new ball joint and secure it properly.
4. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheels to the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Reconnect the battery.
