Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's 12V battery to ensure safety.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, flat area to work in.
2. Remove the Seat Control Switch
  • Use a trim removal tool to carefully pry off the control switch panel.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the switch.
  • Inspect the connector for any damage or corrosion.
3. Inspect and Test the Seat Motor
  • Remove the seat from the vehicle by unscrewing the bolts securing it to the floor (use a socket set).
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the seat motor.
  • With a multimeter, test the motor’s resistance; it should show a low resistance value.
  • If the motor is faulty, replace it with a new motor.
4. Reassemble Components
  • Reconnect the seat motor wiring harness and secure the seat back to the floor using the bolts (torque to manufacturer's specifications).
  • Reattach the seat control switch by connecting the electrical connector and snapping the switch panel back into place.
  • Reconnect the vehicle's 12V battery.
5. Software Reset (if necessary)
  • Turn on the vehicle and perform a soft reboot of the touchscreen by holding down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen turns off and back on.
