Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Oil pressure gauge
    • Socket set
    • Oil filter wrench
    • Drain pan
    • Safety gloves and goggles
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
2. Check and Top Off Oil Level
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Reinsert it and then remove it again to check the oil level.
  • If the oil level is low, add the manufacturer-recommended oil type to the engine until the level is adequate.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Using the oil filter wrench, remove the old oil filter. Be cautious as it may still contain oil.
  • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter and tighten it by hand, then give it an additional 3/4 turn.
4. Change Engine Oil
  • Place a drain pan under the oil pan and remove the oil drain plug using the socket set.
  • Allow the old oil to fully drain out. Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer's specification (typically 25-30 ft-lbs).
  • Pour new oil into the engine through the oil filler cap using the manufacturer-recommended oil.
5. Test Oil Pressure
  • Connect the oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure sending unit.
  • Start the engine and monitor the oil pressure reading. It should be within the manufacturer's specified range.
  • If pressure is still low, further investigation into the oil pump or internal engine components may be necessary.
