Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032 or as specified).
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure vehicle is in park and turned off before working on the key fob.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and note the orientation of the battery.
  3. Insert the new battery into the fob, ensuring the correct orientation (positive side facing up).
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  3. Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the key to the "Off" position and remove it.
  5. Test the key fob to check if the unlocking function is restored.
4. Inspect and Repair Vehicle Locking Mechanism
  1. If the key fob still does not work, open the driver's side door manually.
  2. Remove the door panel using a socket set and screwdrivers to access the locking mechanism.
  3. Inspect the wiring and connections to ensure there are no breaks or disconnections.
  4. Test the locking actuator by applying direct power to it from a power source.
  5. Replace the actuator if it does not respond.
