Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Manifold gauge set
    • Safety goggles and gloves
    • R134a refrigerant (if needed)
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Check and Replace Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter, typically found behind the glove compartment.
  2. Remove the glove compartment by unscrewing any retaining screws and disconnecting it from the dashboard.
  3. Remove the old cabin air filter and check for dirt or blockages.
  4. Install a new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly as per the airflow direction indicated on the filter.
  5. Reassemble the glove compartment.
3. Recharge Refrigerant
  1. Connect the manifold gauge set to the high and low-pressure service ports of the AC system.
  2. Start the vehicle and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
  3. Check the pressure readings on the gauges; if low, proceed to recharge.
  4. Add refrigerant slowly to the low-pressure side until the readings are within the manufacturer’s specifications.
  5. Monitor for any leaks during the process.
4. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  1. Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent any electrical hazards.
  2. Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor by loosening the tensioner pulley.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector and refrigerant lines from the compressor.
  4. Remove the mounting bolts securing the compressor and take it out of the engine bay.
  5. Install the new AC compressor by reversing the removal steps, ensuring to replace any O-rings to prevent leaks.
  6. Reinstall the drive belt and reconnect the battery.
