1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools and components.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area.
  • Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver or a coin.
  • Locate the seam on the edge of the key fob.
  • Carefully insert the flathead screwdriver or coin into the seam and twist slightly to pop open the key fob casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Identify the battery type (usually CR2032 for most key fobs).
  • Gently lift the old battery out of its compartment using a plastic tool or your fingers, ensuring not to damage any contacts.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Parts Required: CR2032 battery (or specific battery type for your model).
  • Insert the new battery into the compartment, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Press down gently to secure the battery in place.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press them together firmly until you hear a click, indicating the fob is sealed properly.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand a few feet away from the vehicle and press any button on the key fob.
  • Confirm that the vehicle responds by unlocking or starting.
