Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Pry bar
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues while working.
2. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  1. Raise the Vehicle

    • Use the jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Remove Wheel

    • Use a socket set to remove the wheel where the noise is most prominent.
  3. Inspect Shock Absorbers/Struts

    • Check for signs of oil leakage or physical damage.
    • If damaged, follow the steps below to replace:
      • Remove the old shock/strut:
        • Disconnect the upper mount bolts using the socket set.
        • Remove the lower bolts and detach the strut/shock from the suspension.
      • Install the new shock/strut:
        • Position the new shock/strut in place and secure the lower bolts first.
        • Reattach the upper mount and torque to manufacturer specifications.
  4. Check Sway Bar Links and Bushings

    • Inspect for wear or damage.
    • If they need replacement, remove the old sway bar links using the socket set.
    • Install the new links and torque to specifications.
  5. Reinstall Wheel

    • Place the wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to ensure even distribution of pressure.
3. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
4. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminal securely.
