Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, funnel, oil catch pan, torque wrench, rag or paper towels.
  • Parts Required: New engine oil (5W-20 recommended), new oil filter, oil drain plug gasket (if applicable).
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the engine is cool to prevent burns.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle.
  • Secure with jack stands for safety.
3. Drain Old Oil
  • Place the oil catch pan under the oil drain plug.
  • Use the socket set to remove the oil drain plug.
  • Allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque (usually around 30 lb-ft).
4. Replace Oil Filter
  • Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  • Apply a thin layer of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter, hand-tightening it to ensure a proper seal.
5. Add New Oil
  • Open the hood and remove the oil filler cap.
  • Use a funnel to pour in the new engine oil (typically 4.4 quarts for a complete oil change).
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
6. Check Oil Level
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
  • Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes.
  • Use the dipstick to check the oil level and add oil if necessary.
