Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: jack, jack stands, lug wrench, brake rotor gauge, torque wrench, and basic hand tools.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the Honda CR-V.
  • Securely place jack stands under the vehicle for safety.
3. Remove Front Wheels
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen and remove the lug nuts.
  • Take off the front wheels and set them aside.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Components
  • Inspect Brake Rotors:
    • Check for warping using a runout gauge or visually.
    • If warped, replace with new rotors.
  • Inspect Brake Pads:
    • Check thickness; if less than 3mm, replace pads.
  • Installation:
    • Install new rotors and pads, ensuring all components fit correctly.
    • Apply brake grease to the back of the pads to prevent noise.
5. Reinstall Wheels
  • Place the wheels back on the hubs.
  • Hand-tighten lug nuts in a star pattern.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 80-100 ft-lbs).
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
7. Test Drive
  • After repairs, take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure the issue has been resolved.
