Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Fuel pressure gauge
    • Injector cleaning kit
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting work on the fuel system.
2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the engine cover if present.
  • Relieve fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines using appropriate tools, ensuring to have a rag to catch any residual fuel.
  • Unplug the electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  • Remove the retaining clips and use a socket to unscrew the injectors from the fuel rail.
  • Carefully pull the injectors out of the intake manifold.
3. Inspect and Clean Injectors
  • Use the injector cleaning kit to clean the injectors, following the manufacturer’s instructions for the cleaning process.
  • Visually inspect O-rings and replace if they are cracked or damaged.
  • Check for any carbon buildup on injector nozzles and clean if necessary.
4. Reinstall Fuel Injectors
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-rings of the injectors to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the cleaned or new injectors back into the fuel rail and ensure they seat properly.
  • Secure the injectors with the retaining clips and reconnect the electrical connectors.
  • Reattach the fuel lines and ensure they are secured.
5. Testing
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump relay.
  • Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position for a few seconds to prime the fuel system and check for leaks.
  • Start the engine and monitor for any abnormal sounds or leaks.
