1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, screwdrivers, cleaning supplies, and safety gloves.

2. Clean the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)
  • Locate the IAC valve, typically mounted on or near the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the IAC valve using the appropriate socket.
  • Clean the valve with throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to remove any carbon build-up.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Use a throttle body cleaner and a clean cloth to wipe the inside of the throttle body.
  • Ensure the throttle plate opens and closes freely without sticking.
  • Reinstall the intake duct securely.
