Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and screwdrivers.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Inspect Fuel Gauge Connections
  • Remove the dashboard panel covering the gauge cluster using a screwdriver.
  • Check for loose or corroded wiring connections at the back of the gauge cluster.
  • Reconnect any loose wires and clean corroded contacts.
3. Replace Fuel Sender Unit (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench, and a fuel line disconnect tool.
  • Locate the fuel sender unit, usually found in the fuel tank.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connector from the sender unit.
  • Remove the mounting screws and carefully lift out the fuel sender unit.
  • Install the new fuel sender unit and reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connector.
  • Reinstall the mounting screws securely.
4. Reassemble Dashboard Components
  • Reattach the gauge cluster and secure it with screws.
  • Reinstall the dashboard panel.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and components are properly secured.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the vehicle's battery.
