Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small screwdriver (for battery replacement), multimeter (if needed), and a replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use a small screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing along the seam.
    • Be cautious not to damage the clips holding the fob together.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Take note of the orientation of the battery before removing it.
    • Carefully remove the old battery using your fingers or a small tool.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Place the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old battery (usually positive side facing up).
    • Ensure it fits snugly in place.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until you hear a click, indicating they are properly closed.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine) and back to OFF five times within 10 seconds.
    • Leave the key in the ignition in the ON position on the fifth turn.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press any button on the key fob once. If successful, the vehicle will respond with a locking/unlocking sound.
    • Repeat this step for any additional key fobs you need to program.
  3. Exit Programming Mode:

    • Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key from the ignition.
