Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Use jack stands to lift the vehicle safely.
2. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components

a. Shock Absorbers

  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spring compressor (if necessary)
  • Remove the wheel to gain access to the shock absorber.
  • Unbolt the top mount of the shock absorber and the lower mounting bolts.
  • Carefully remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.
  • Install the new shock absorber, ensuring all fasteners are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications.

b. Sway Bar Links

  • Tools Required: Wrench set, socket set
  • Inspect sway bar links for damage or looseness.
  • If damaged, unbolt the old sway bar link from the sway bar and the control arm.
  • Install the new sway bar link and torque the bolts to specifications.

c. Control Arm Bushings

  • Tools Required: Socket set, pry bar, possibly a bushing press
  • Inspect the control arm bushings for wear.
  • If worn, remove the control arm by unbolting it from the chassis and the steering knuckle.
  • Press out the old bushings and replace them with new ones.
  • Reinstall the control arm and torque bolts to specifications.
3. Final Assembly
  • Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle.
  • Ensure all fasteners are properly torqued.
  • Double-check the alignment of components.
