Solution
1. Preparation
  • Disconnect the battery (negative terminal) to prevent electrical shock.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
2. Access the Fuel Pump
  • Remove the rear seat bottom cushion (if applicable) to access the fuel pump access panel.
  • Unscrew the access panel to expose the fuel pump assembly.
  • If there is no access panel, drain the fuel tank and remove it from the vehicle.
3. Remove the Fuel Pump Assembly
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
  • Carefully remove the fuel lines from the pump assembly (use a line removal tool if necessary).
  • Unfasten the retaining ring or bolts securing the fuel pump assembly and lift it out of the tank.
4. Install the New Fuel Pump
  • Place the new fuel pump into the assembly and secure it with the retaining ring or bolts.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and ensure they are properly seated.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the fuel pump.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • If the tank was removed, reinstall it and secure all mounting points.
  • Reattach the fuel pump access panel and seat cushion (if applicable).
  • Reconnect the battery and install the fuel pump relay.
  • Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position several times to prime the system, then start the engine.
