Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools including a brake bleeder kit, wrench set, and a container for old brake fluid.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Check and Refill Brake Fluid
  • Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  • If low, add the appropriate brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified in the owner’s manual).
  • Check for leaks around the reservoir and lines.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Components
  • Brake Lines and Calipers
    • Raise the vehicle and remove the wheels.
    • Inspect all brake lines and calipers for leaks or damage. Replace any faulty components.
  • Master Cylinder
    • Remove the brake master cylinder if leaks are found.
    • Replace with a new master cylinder if it is faulty. Follow manufacturer’s specifications for installation.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Attach a brake bleeder kit to the bleeder valve on the furthest brake caliper from the master cylinder.
  • Open the bleeder valve and have an assistant press the brake pedal slowly.
  • Close the valve while the pedal is depressed, then release the pedal.
  • Repeat this process until no air bubbles are present in the fluid. Continue with the remaining calipers in sequence.
5. Final Inspection and Reassembly
  • Recheck the brake fluid level and top off if necessary.
  • Reinstall wheels and lower the vehicle.
  • Conduct a visual inspection to ensure all components are secured.
