Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • If necessary, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Transmission Fluid Inspection
  • Remove the transmission dipstick (if applicable).
  • Wipe the dipstick clean, reinsert it, and remove it again to check fluid level.
  • If low, add the manufacturer-recommended transmission fluid.
  • For burnt or contaminated fluid, proceed to drain and replace the fluid.
3. Fluid Replacement
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket set and carefully lower the pan to drain fluid.
  • Replace the transmission filter if applicable.
  • Install a new gasket and reattach the transmission pan, tightening bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  • Refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube.
4. Solenoid Testing and Replacement
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the transmission solenoids.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of each solenoid; compare results to manufacturer specifications.
  • If any solenoid is out of spec, remove it and replace with a new solenoid.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors securely.
5. Software Update
  • Connect a compatible scan tool to the OBD-II port.
  • Check for software updates for the TCM and follow the manufacturer's procedure to update if necessary.
