Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, and a new battery if needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe and accessible location.
2. Verify Battery Installation
  • Open the key fob by gently prying it apart with a flathead screwdriver.
  • Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring proper orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Snap the fob back together securely.
3. Test Battery Voltage
  • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the new battery.
    • Set the multimeter to the DC voltage setting.
    • Place the positive probe on the positive terminal and the negative probe on the negative terminal.
    • The voltage should read close to the nominal value (e.g., 3V for CR2032).
  • If the voltage is low, replace the battery again.
4. Reprogram Key Fob
  • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for a few seconds, then turn the ignition key back to "Off."
  • Repeat this process two more times (turning "On" and "Off") and then turn the key to "On" one last time.
  • Press the "Lock" button on the key fob to complete the programming.
  • Turn the ignition to "Off" and test the key fob functions.
5. Check for Interference
  • Move the vehicle away from potential sources of interference, such as other vehicles, electronic devices, or radio towers.
  • Test the key fob again while in a different location.
