Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit, 10mm wrench, clean cloth, jack and jack stands, brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4).
2. Access the Brake Components
  • Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel on the brake you intend to bleed first (typically starting with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder).
3. Bleed the Brakes

a. Locate the Bleeder Valve

  • Identify the bleeder valve on the brake caliper. It is usually a small nipple-like fitting.

b. Attach Bleeder Hose

  • Place a clear plastic hose over the bleeder valve and position the other end into a container to catch the old brake fluid.

c. Open the Bleeder Valve

  • Using the 10mm wrench, slowly open the bleeder valve while a helper presses the brake pedal down slowly and steadily.

d. Pump the Brake Pedal

  • Have your helper pump the brake pedal several times and hold it down.
  • While the pedal is held down, open the bleeder valve to allow air and fluid to escape. Close the valve before your helper releases the brake pedal.
  • Repeat this process until a steady stream of fluid (without air bubbles) flows through the hose.

e. Check Fluid Levels

  • Periodically check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir and refill as necessary to avoid introducing air into the system.
4. Repeat for Additional Wheels
  • Once the first brake is bled, repeat the process on the other three wheels in the following order: Right Rear, Left Rear, Right Front, Left Front.
5. Final Steps
  • After bleeding all four brakes, ensure all bleeder valves are securely closed.
  • Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle.
  • Pump the brake pedal a few times to ensure proper pedal feel.
