Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Jack up the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
3. Remove the Tie Rod End
  • Locate the tie rod end and remove the cotter pin using pliers.
  • Use a socket or wrench to remove the nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  • Use a tie rod end puller or hammer to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle without damaging it.
  • Unscrew the tie rod end from the steering rack by turning it counterclockwise.
4. Install the New Tie Rod End
  • Screw the new tie rod end onto the steering rack in the same position as the old one, ensuring the alignment is maintained.
  • Reattach the tie rod end to the steering knuckle and secure it with the nut.
  • Insert a new cotter pin to secure the tie rod end.
5. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle to the ground and then torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform an alignment check to ensure proper steering alignment.
