Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools including an OBD-II scanner, fuel pressure gauge, socket set, and cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery before beginning any electrical work.
2. Clean or Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the air filter housing cover using a socket set.
  • Inspect the air filter for dirt. If dirty, replace it with a new filter.
  • Reassemble the air filter housing cover securely.
3. Check and Adjust Fuel Pressure
  • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail's service port.
  • Start the engine and observe the fuel pressure reading; it should match the manufacturer's specifications.
  • If the pressure is low, inspect the fuel pump and fuel filter for issues. Replace as necessary.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the inside of the throttle body, especially around the throttle plate.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and torque bolts to manufacturer's specifications.
5. Inspect and Test IAC Valve
  • Locate the IAC valve and disconnect the electrical connector.
  • Remove the IAC valve from the intake manifold.
  • Clean the valve with throttle body cleaner and inspect for wear. Replace if necessary.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
6. Clean MAF Sensor
  • Locate the MAF sensor in the intake duct.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the MAF sensor.
  • Clean the sensor with MAF sensor cleaner, avoiding contact with the sensor wire.
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
