Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shocks.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been running.
2. Replace Wiper Control Stalk
  • Tools Required: Torx driver set, trim removal tool
  • Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the screws with a Torx driver.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the wiper control stalk.
  • Unscrew the wiper control stalk and remove it from the steering column.
  • Install the new wiper control stalk and reconnect the electrical connector.
  • Reattach the steering column cover and secure with screws.
3. Inspect and Replace Wiper Motor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter
  • Locate the wiper motor, typically mounted at the base of the windshield.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  • Use a multimeter to test for power and ground at the motor connector.
  • If the motor is not receiving power, trace back to the relay and wiring.
  • If the motor is faulty, unbolt it from its mount and remove it.
  • Install the new wiper motor, reconnect the electrical connector, and secure it with bolts.
