Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove Air Intake Hose
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the clamps securing the air intake hose to the throttle body.
  • Carefully detach the hose, taking care not to damage any surrounding components.
3. Remove Throttle Body
  • Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body.
  • Remove the bolts securing the throttle body using a socket set (usually 8mm or 10mm, check specific model).
  • Gently pull the throttle body away from the intake manifold, taking care not to damage the gasket.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Use a throttle body cleaner spray and a clean, lint-free cloth or a soft brush.
  • Spray the cleaner onto the cloth and wipe the inside of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and the walls.
  • Ensure that no cleaner is left on the sensor located near the throttle body. Avoid direct spraying on sensors.
5. Reinstall Throttle Body
  • Position a new gasket (if needed) onto the intake manifold.
  • Align the throttle body and secure it with bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 89 in-lbs).
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors removed earlier.
6. Reattach Air Intake Hose
  • Reattach the air intake hose and secure it with the clamps.
  • Ensure the hose is fitted snugly to prevent air leaks.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to ensure everything is functioning properly.
