Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Replace Headlight Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly by unscrewing retaining screws.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the bulb.
  • Replace the old bulb with a new one, ensuring it's the correct type for the F-150.
  • Reattach the wiring harness and secure the headlight assembly.
3. Clean and Reconnect Electrical Connections
  • Inspect and clean the connectors and wiring harness with electrical contact cleaner.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and free from corrosion.
4. Replace Battery (if necessary)
  • If the battery voltage was low, remove the old battery by disconnecting the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
  • Install the new battery by connecting the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
  • Secure the battery in place.
5. Replace Alternator (if necessary)
  • Disconnect the battery again.
  • Remove the serpentine belt from the alternator.
  • Unscrew the alternator mounting bolts and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  • Install the new alternator, secure it with the bolts, and reconnect the electrical connections.
  • Reinstall the serpentine belt.
