Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Remove Wheel Lug Nuts
  • Using a lug wrench, loosen but do not fully remove the lug nuts of the tires being rotated.
  • Lift the vehicle using a jack at the designated lifting points.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the tires.
3. Rotate Tires
  • Follow the recommended rotation pattern:
    • For standard tires: Front tires move to the rear on the same side, and rear tires move to the front on the opposite side (cross pattern).
    • For directional tires: Simply swap front and rear tires on the same side.
4. Reinstall Tires
  • Place the tires back onto the wheel hubs.
  • Hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the wheel studs.
5. Lower Vehicle and Torque Lug Nuts
  • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Using a torque wrench, tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specified torque values (usually around 85-100 ft-lbs for Ford F-150).
