Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, mechanical oil pressure gauge, socket set, oil filter wrench.
  • Ensure the engine is off and cool. Disconnect the battery before beginning work.
2. Check and Top Off Engine Oil
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Reinsert it and remove again to check the oil level.
  • If the oil level is low, add the recommended oil type (refer to owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Run the engine for a few minutes, then recheck the oil level and top off if necessary.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, catch pan.
  • Place a catch pan underneath the oil filter to catch any oil drips.
  • Use the oil filter wrench to carefully remove the old oil filter.
  • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
  • Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten it slightly more with the wrench.
4. Inspect and Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove any components obstructing access to the oil pump (e.g., oil pan).
  • Remove the oil pump from the engine block.
  • Inspect the oil pump for wear or damage. Replace it if necessary, using a new gasket.
  • Reinstall the oil pump and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
5. Clean Oil Passages
  • If oil passages are blocked, clean them using solvent and compressed air as needed.
  • Reassemble any parts that were removed during the inspection.
6. Final Checks
  • Refill the engine with the correct oil type and capacity.
  • Reconnect the battery and run the engine, checking for leaks and ensuring the oil pressure warning light is off.
