Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver or a coin, and the replacement battery (commonly CR2032 for Ford fobs).
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area to easily see small parts.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Locate the seam on the edge of the key fob.
  • Use the flathead screwdriver or coin to gently pry open the fob at the seam, taking care not to damage the casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Once opened, note the position of the old battery.
  • Carefully remove the old battery by using your fingers or a non-conductive tool to avoid shorting any connections.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Insert the new battery into the slot, ensuring the positive (+) side faces the correct direction as indicated by the markings inside the fob.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
  • Ensure there are no gaps, indicating the fob is securely closed.
