Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, wrench set, socket set, torque wrench, spring compressor (if needed), penetrating oil.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been driven recently.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle off the ground.
  • Secure the vehicle on jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove the Old Shock Absorbers
  • For each shock absorber:
    1. Inspect the mounting bolts and apply penetrating oil if rusted.
    2. Remove the lower mounting bolt using a socket wrench.
    3. Remove the upper mounting bolt from the frame or body using a wrench.
    4. Carefully take out the old shock absorber from its mounting points.
4. Install the New Shock Absorbers
  • For each new shock absorber:
    1. Position the new shock absorber in place, aligning the upper mount with the frame.
    2. Insert and hand-tighten the upper mounting bolt.
    3. Secure the lower mount by inserting the lower mounting bolt and hand-tightening it.
    4. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque values (consult service manual for exact specifications).
5. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Recheck all bolts for tightness.
  • Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Reconnect the battery.
