Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues during repairs.
2. Identify Leak Source
  • Clean the area around suspected leak points using an engine degreaser.
  • Use a UV dye if required, following the manufacturer's instructions, to help pinpoint the leak.
3. Replace Gaskets or Seals
  • Oil Filter Replacement:

    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
    • Lubricate the rubber O-ring of the new filter with fresh oil.
    • Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten an additional 3/4 turn.
  • Drain Plug Replacement:

    • Place a drain pan underneath the oil pan.
    • Use a socket wrench to remove the drain plug.
    • Inspect the washer and replace it if damaged.
    • Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  • Gasket Replacement:

    • For the oil pan, remove the bolts securing it and gently pry it off.
    • Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly.
    • Apply a new gasket or sealant as specified in the service manual.
    • Reinstall the oil pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 10-12 Nm or 7-9 lb-ft).
4. Refill Engine Oil
  • Use a funnel to pour the recommended type and quantity of engine oil back into the engine.
  • Check the oil level using the dipstick and adjust as necessary.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes while checking for leaks.
  • Monitor the oil level once more after the engine has run to ensure proper levels.
