Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shock.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely parked.
2. Access the Blower Motor Resistor
  • Tools Required: Torx screwdriver set, socket set, flashlight
  • Locate the blower motor resistor, usually found near the blower motor itself under the dashboard on the passenger side.
  • Remove the lower dash panel by unscrewing the fasteners and gently pulling it away.
3. Remove the Faulty Resistor
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Unscrew the mounting screws holding the resistor in place using the appropriate Torx screwdriver.
  • Gently pull the resistor out of its housing.
4. Install the New Resistor
  • Take the new blower motor resistor and align it with the mounting holes.
  • Secure it in place by tightening the screws to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically 5-7 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the lower dash panel and secure it with the fasteners.
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the vehicle and test the blower motor at all speed settings to confirm proper operation.
