Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: brake fluid (DOT 4), brake bleeder kit, wrench (typically 10mm for bleed screws), and a container to catch old fluid.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands for safety.
2. Access Brake Bleed Screws
  • Remove the wheel covers if applicable and loosen the lug nuts on the wheels.
  • Remove the wheels to access the brake calipers and bleed screws.
3. Bleed Brakes
  • Starting with the furthest wheel from the master cylinder (usually the right rear):

    1. Attach the brake bleeder kit to the bleed screw on the caliper.
    2. Use the wrench to loosen the bleed screw slightly (1/4 to 1/2 turn).
    3. Have an assistant press the brake pedal slowly and hold it down.
    4. Open the bleed screw to allow old fluid and air to escape into the tube and container.
    5. Close the bleed screw before the assistant releases the brake pedal to prevent sucking air back in.
    6. Repeat this process until a steady stream of bubble-free new fluid is observed.
  • Continue to the left rear, right front, and finally left front wheel in that order.

4. Final Checks
  • Once bleeding is complete, ensure all bleed screws are tightened properly.
  • Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Refill the brake fluid reservoir to the appropriate level.
