Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, throttle body cleaner, socket set, torque wrench, cleaning rags.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems. Allow the engine to cool before accessing the throttle body.
2. Remove Throttle Body
  1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  2. Remove the engine cover if applicable to access the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
  4. Unbolt the throttle body using the appropriate socket; typically, this requires a Torx or socket wrench.
  5. Carefully detach the throttle body from the intake manifold.
3. Inspect and Clean
  1. Inspect the throttle body for signs of damage, wear, or contamination.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a cleaning rag to clean the interior surfaces, including the throttle plate and bore area.
  3. Check the gasket for damage; replace if necessary.
4. Install Throttle Body
  1. Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
  2. Install and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm, but verify with service manual).
  3. Reconnect the electrical connector ensuring it clicks into place.
  4. Reinstall the engine cover if it was removed.
5. Reconnect Battery and Perform Adaptation
  1. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  2. Use the OBD-II scanner to clear any error codes.
  3. Perform a throttle adaptation reset with the diagnostic tool to calibrate the throttle position sensor.
