Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts. Ensure the vehicle is parked in a shaded area to avoid rapid curing of materials.
  • Tools Required: Windshield repair kit (if repairing), suction cups, safety glasses, gloves, and a plastic razor blade.
  • Parts Required: Replacement windshield (if replacing).
2. Repairing the Crack (if applicable)
  • Clean the area around the crack with glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
  • Use the suction cups to hold the windshield repair tool in place over the crack.
  • Inject the resin into the crack according to the kit instructions, ensuring it fills the entire area.
  • Allow the resin to cure as per the manufacturer's recommendations, usually involving exposure to sunlight or a UV light.
  • Once cured, use the plastic razor blade to scrape off any excess resin from the surface.
3. Replacing the Windshield (if necessary)
  • Remove the windshield wipers and any trim pieces blocking access to the windshield.
  • Cut the adhesive around the windshield using a windshield removal tool.
  • Carefully lift the cracked windshield out with the help of a second person.
  • Clean the frame of any old adhesive and debris.
  • Apply a new adhesive to the frame following the manufacturer’s specification.
  • Position the new windshield using the suction cups and press it firmly into place.
  • Reinstall any trim and windshield wipers.
