Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting work.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner
  • Mechanical oil pressure gauge
  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Oil filter wrench
  • Oil catch pan
2. Check and Top Off Engine Oil
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
  • Reinsert the dipstick and remove it again to check the oil level.
  • If the oil level is low, add the appropriate type of oil (check owner's manual for specifications).
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Filter
  • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  • Clean the mounting surface on the engine where the filter attaches.
  • Install a new oil filter, ensuring the rubber O-ring is lubricated and properly seated.
  • Tighten the filter to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Replace Engine Oil
  • Drain the old engine oil using the oil catch pan by removing the oil drain plug.
  • Allow the oil to fully drain, then replace and torque the drain plug to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Refill with new engine oil through the oil filler cap, using the recommended oil type and quantity.
5. Test Oil Pressure
  • Connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure sending unit location.
  • Start the engine and observe the oil pressure reading on the gauge.
  • If the pressure is below specifications, further inspection of the oil pump and related components is necessary.
