Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Torx screwdriver (T20)
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Soft cloth or vacuum (optional for cleaning)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is turned off.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any items stored inside.
  • Locate the two dampers (cables) on either side of the glove compartment. Gently push in on the sides of the glove compartment to release the stops and lower it completely.
  • Disconnect the dampers by carefully pulling them off the glove compartment.
3. Remove the Filter Cover
  • Locate the filter cover at the back of the glove compartment area. It is typically held in place by clips or screws.
  • Use the Torx screwdriver to remove any screws securing the filter cover. If clips are present, gently pry them open with a flathead screwdriver.
  • Carefully pull the filter cover away to expose the cabin air filter.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  • Grasp the old cabin air filter and pull it straight out. Be cautious of any debris that may fall into the air intake.
  • Clean the filter housing with a soft cloth or vacuum to remove any dust or debris.
  • Unbox the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly. There is usually an airflow direction arrow on the filter that should match the airflow direction in the vehicle.
  • Insert the new cabin air filter into the housing until it is fully seated.
5. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the filter cover by securing it with screws or clips, ensuring it is securely in place.
  • Lift the glove compartment back into position and reconnect the dampers.
  • Push the sides of the glove compartment to lock it into place.
