Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, clean microfiber cloths, safety gloves, safety glasses.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Sub-steps:
    • Use a socket to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
    • Wait for at least 5 minutes before proceeding to allow any residual charge to dissipate.
3. Remove Intake Duct
  • Sub-steps:
    • Loosen the clamps securing the intake duct to the throttle body and air filter housing using a screwdriver.
    • Carefully remove the duct from both ends, taking care not to damage any sensors attached to it.
4. Access Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    • Remove any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body by pressing the tabs and pulling them off gently.
    • Unbolt the throttle body from its mounting using the socket set. Keep track of the bolts for reinstallation.
5. Clean Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a clean microfiber cloth.
    • Wipe the inside of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and the walls. Avoid spraying directly into the throttle body.
    • Open the throttle plate manually (if applicable) to clean behind it and ensure no carbon buildup remains.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Sub-steps:
    • Reattach the throttle body, securing it with the bolts and torque them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 10 Nm).
    • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the throttle body.
    • Reinstall the intake duct and ensure all clamps are securely fastened.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and tighten it with a socket.
