Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter housing, typically behind the glove compartment.
  2. Remove the glove compartment by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  3. Open the filter cover and remove the old cabin air filter.
  4. Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly (check airflow direction).
  5. Reassemble the glove compartment.
3. Recharge the AC System
  1. Locate the low-pressure service port on the AC system.
  2. Connect the AC refrigerant gauge set to the service port.
  3. Follow manufacturer specifications to add refrigerant until the proper pressure is achieved.
  4. Disconnect the gauge set and ensure the service port cap is securely installed.
4. Replace Blower Motor (if defective)
  1. Remove the blower motor cover under the dashboard.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
  3. Unscrew the blower motor mounting screws and remove the motor from its housing.
  4. Install the new blower motor and secure it with screws.
  5. Reconnect the electrical connector and replace the cover.
5. Reprogram HVAC Control Module (if necessary)
  1. Connect the vehicle to a diagnostic scanner capable of reprogramming modules.
  2. Follow the prompts to access the HVAC control module settings.
  3. Update or reset the module software as per the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Disconnect the diagnostic tool and reconnect the battery.
