Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Cooling system pressure tester
    • UV dye and UV light
    • Socket set
    • Pliers
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work on the cooling system.
    • Wear gloves and safety goggles when handling coolant.
2. Replace Leaking Hoses
  1. Identify the damaged hose during the visual inspection.
  2. Use pliers to remove the hose clamps securing the hose to the fittings.
  3. Carefully remove the hose and replace it with a new one.
  4. Secure the new hose with the clamps, ensuring a tight fit.
  5. Refill the coolant system with the appropriate coolant type.
3. Replace Water Pump (if necessary)
  1. Drain the coolant from the system via the drain plug on the radiator.
  2. Remove any components obstructing access to the water pump (e.g., belts, pulleys).
  3. Unbolt the water pump and remove it from the engine block.
  4. Clean the mating surfaces on the engine block and install a new gasket.
  5. Install the new water pump, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
  6. Reassemble any components removed and refill the coolant system.
4. Repair or Replace Radiator (if necessary)
  1. Drain the coolant from the system.
  2. Disconnect the radiator hoses and any electrical connections.
  3. Unbolt the radiator from its mounting points and remove it from the vehicle.
  4. Inspect for any damage; replace if necessary.
  5. Install the new radiator and reconnect hoses and electrical connections.
  6. Refill the coolant system with the appropriate coolant type.
