Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Torx screwdriver (T20), flathead screwdriver, gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is turned off.
  • Put on gloves to avoid contamination and protect your hands.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  2. Locate the damper arm on the right side of the glove compartment and gently detach it to allow the glove compartment to drop down further.
  3. Remove the screws (if applicable) securing the glove compartment or the access panel for the cabin air filter. Use the Torx screwdriver (T20) for this step.
  4. Carefully pull the glove compartment out or lower it enough to access the cabin air filter housing.
3. Remove Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cover of the cabin air filter housing, which is usually on the passenger side behind the glove compartment.
  2. Release the clips or screws holding the cover in place and remove it.
  3. Pull out the old cabin air filter from its housing. Note the orientation of the filter for proper installation of the new filter.
4. Install New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly according to the airflow direction indicated on the filter.
  2. Insert the new filter into the housing.
  3. Reattach the cover of the cabin air filter housing and secure it with clips or screws.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Lift the glove compartment back into position and secure it with any screws removed earlier.
  2. Reattach the damper arm to the glove compartment.
  3. Close the glove compartment and ensure it operates smoothly.
