Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Remove the Coolant Reservoir
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver, coolant catch pan.
  • Place the coolant catch pan under the vehicle to catch any leaking coolant.
  • Disconnect the hoses attached to the reservoir (use pliers if necessary).
  • Unbolt the coolant reservoir from its mounting using the socket set.
  • Carefully lift out the reservoir and inspect it for damage.
3. Repair or Replace the Reservoir
  • If the reservoir has minor cracks, use a plastic epoxy to seal the leaks:
    • Clean the area around the crack with alcohol.
    • Apply the epoxy according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
    • Allow the epoxy to cure completely before reinstallation.
  • If the reservoir is severely damaged, replace it with a new one:
    • Ensure the new reservoir matches the OEM specifications.
4. Reinstall the Coolant Reservoir
  • Position the repaired or new reservoir back in place.
  • Reattach the hoses and ensure they are secure.
  • Bolt the reservoir to its mounting points using the socket set.
  • Replace the radiator cap if necessary.
5. Refill Coolant
  • Using a funnel, refill the coolant reservoir with the appropriate coolant (refer to owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Ensure the coolant level is between the minimum and maximum marks.
6. Test for Leaks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature.
  • Inspect the coolant reservoir and hoses for any signs of leaks.
